We have had quite the busy summer so far, Andrew has enjoyed swim lessons twice a week and finally got up on the diving block to jump today, such a brave boy! Isabella decided that she was ready for big girl undies and is completely potty trained now except for nap and nights, but that should come soon! We are so proud of our kids
We went to the Oregon coast to spend the 4th with Rob’s parents and brought back some fresh salmon, then went to visit friends in Olympia last weekend and the kids found quite a few sand dollars on the shore there. In 2 weeks we’ll be flying to Tennessee to visit my relatives. The last time we made that trip was 2 years ago when Bella was only a few months old and Andrew was 2, so this will be alot of fun for everyone! Here are some pictures to highlight our summer so far!
Summer update! July 16, 2009
Update on Bella! May 7, 2009
As most people know, Bella was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at her 5 month well checkup and had to wear a brace for a better part of the year to help correct the angle of her hips. At her 1 year checkup she had improved quite a bit but they were still concerned about the angle of her left hip…today we had her yearly checkup and her hips are now considered normal!!
This means no more worrying about a possible surgery down the road to correct any lingering problems
Such good news for my little girl who is going to be 2 on Saturday! I can’t believe how big she is
Anyway, I was so excited that I wanted to share!

It’s been awhile… March 9, 2009
I just can’t seem to keep up on posts like my friends do! I have a ton of cute pictures of the kids up on flickr if anyone is interested in checking those out. www.flickr.com/photos/heathersexton and some new videos up on dropshots at www.dropshots.com/andrewsmama . Otherwise we are all doing good, life has been pretty busy lately as I went out of town for 4 days for a wedding in San Francisco, Rob did an amazing job with the kids on his own as always
He’s the best friend/dad/husband I could ever ask for! We are currently getting a few inches of snow on the ground as I type this, I can’t believe this winter! Well, here are a few of my favorite pictures of the kids from recently, they really are growing up so fast. Andrew told me this morning in the car that he is going to grow up and ride a skateboard like his Uncle Kyle, but not until is he really really bigger
And Bella just wants to do everything that Andrew wants to do, it’s really cute! We read books everynight at bedtime with the kids and they have a Dora book about bedtime wishes and when I ask the kids what they wish for Andrew changes his answer each time, but since the first time we read the story Andrew answered Daddy, Isabella always answers Daddy
(not that he’s gone or anything, he’s sitting right there next to us on the bed reading, lol, its just so sweet the say she smiles and says it!) I hope everyone is staying warm and keeping their spirits up in this weather and economy!!

Twinkle, twinkle little star… February 16, 2009
Here’s a video of the kids singing Twinkle, twinkle little star
They are sitting on the spiderman couch with a blanket pretending that it’s a school bus, you can’t see it but Andrew has his spiderman backpack under the covers. Bella knows the last word of each line, just like in all the story books we read to the kids at bedtime! Of course I never notice the mess on the floor until after I record, oh well!
feeling turtley? (name that movie) January 3, 2009
Andrew gets camera-shy from time to time and today was one of those times…he had me cracking up ducking in and out of his coat in the back seat! Reminded me of a Dana Carvey movie I once saw
This was taken with my new camera that Rob got me for Christmas, just a little point and shoot Nikon but it seems to get great pictures even if they’re a bit slower to take than my Canon. I’m experimenting doing blog posts through flickr and other sites vs. directly from the blog as it makes me upload the videos and pictures before allowing me to blog them anyway. (this is why I may have multiple posts on one day, or wierd size photos on another!) Bear with me, I’ll figure out the best method sooner or later! ![]()

Andrew riding his new bike! January 1, 2009
We took Andrew down to the fish hatchery to practice riding his new bike. After a few falls during attempts to turn without pedaling he managed to get the hang of it
We have pretty gloomy weather around here and its only supposed to get worse unfortunately. I hope he’ll get to practice some more soon!

Winter Storm December 19, 2008
Well, the winter storm finally hit Seattle. We had a major warning for Wednesday, all the schools closed down and half the town stayed home…nothing happened! Then this morning we woke up to the ground covered in snow and icy roads…so we finally got our snow day! It’s supposed to hit again this weekend pretty bad and into next week so I’m sure the kids will enjoy playing outside but I’m starting to get worried about the chances of us getting home for Christmas
We’ll keep you updated with pictures of the kids enjoying the snow and updates on the weather, and hopefully we’ll be in Southern Oregon this time next week! I hope everyone is being safe and having a wonderful Christmas break! Here are some shots we got today getting ready to go outside…I actually got Bella to forget about the hair clip long enough to take some pictures!
Getting ready for the holidays! December 14, 2008
Well, we finally went and cut down a tree today! It was pretty cold out so we picked the first decent tree in sight, but its a nice one. It finally snowed last night in our area so the roads were pretty slick getting to the tree farm and the area was covered in snow and beautiful! Immediately after we grabbed our tree we had to rush back and drop it off and run to a birthday party. The kids (and the parents) had a blast at Pump It Up, a party place filled with bouncy houses! We have a busy week ahead of us…if the roads clear up we will head up to the Cougar Mountain zoo to feed the reindeer and see Santa Clause and Tuesday there is a Christmas party for the kids. Everybody is looking forward to Christmas and heading down to Medford to visit!
